Hi, I'm Hannah!
Like many of the people I work with - I’ve had a somewhat rocky relationship with my body - and with healthy behaviors. I grew up swimming, skiing, and playing field hockey - but along the line, I lost that. And the all-or-nothing mindset around my health took over. And I veered towards the “nothing” for quite some time.
In 2009, enough was enough. I reclaimed my health through strength training, nutrition, and taking care of my mental health. Through that journey, I fell in love with strength training and the confidence it gave me. In 2012, I left my job in higher education and became a full-time certified personal trainer.
Over the past 10+ years in the health & fitness industry, I have been able to work in person with personal training clients since the start. Prioritizing continuing education on strength-based certifications, and then a heavy focus on nutrition and pre/postnatal coaching. In 2020, I officially launched HJW Coaching Co, and geared my coaching towards nutrition - with online training options, leading with a mindset-first approach to coaching.
I believe that a healthy life is for everyone - and everyone’s journey is different. Our nutrition and fitness should be woven into a life that we love - it should enhance our lives and what we are able to do - not take away from it. This often starts with little habits that lead to big changes in life.
I meet my clients where they are at - and work on building up these big little habits, incorporating strength training, nutrition, and behavior change to help work towards their goals. I want each client to build confidence in how they are changing through their health journey, working through challenges, celebrating wins, and understanding more about what they are capable of each day.
