Protein Iced Latte

Make it with espresso, or your cold brew…nobody is saying you can’t have your delicious coffee in the morning, but why not save some money, make it at home (suuuuper easy), and also hit 30g of protein with that drink?? PLUS. The reason I love this variation, is because you can get these protein shakes literally anywhere - gas stations usually have them, any supermarket has them, etc. and most of them are shelf-stable. SO - If you are going on a road trip, these are great to have in the car, so if you swing through dunks or Starbucks, you can just get an iced espresso or iced coffee and add the shake to it!

Ingredients:

  • 2 shots espresso (I usually do 1 caff, 1 decaf) - or 6oz of your favorite iced coffee or cold brew

  • 1 container of a pre-made protein shake (yes - you CAN shake it up yourself, but as I said above - this is a great on-the-go option!) This week I used Owyn chocolate (plant based protein)

  • cup with ice

Instructions:

  • you just mix them together lol. we don’t need more instructions here. lol

  • BUUUT - If you are in the car - and ordering from dunks or sbux, I will typically order a medium coffee in a large cup so there is a ton of extra room for you to pour the protein shake over it - or the two shots of espresso in a medium or large cup - again - so you have room!

  • If I make it at home, I will sometimes add a lil topping of fat free whipped cream OR cold foam to make it feel a little fancier, sprinkle some cinnamon on top, and you’re good to go!

Great pre-made protein shake options you can get almost anywhere:

  • Premier Protein: 30g protein

  • Slate Protein drink: 20g protein

  • Core Power: 26g/42g protein - both options are available!

  • Muscle Milk: 25g protein

  • Owyn: 20g/30g/32g protein - all options are available

  • Orgain: 20g protein

  • Fairlife: 30g protein

  • Quest: 45g protein

*there are a ton of options out there - and again - you can usually find them at any grocery store - most convenient stores/gas stations will have CORE POWER, SLATE, or MUSCLE MILK in the refrigerator section.

ENJOY!!  If you try it, tag me on IG @hannahj28 or comment below with how you made it your own!
